More about Ruth Ann Hattori
First and foremost, Ruth Ann Hattori is a results
oriented business person with over 25 years experience as an entrepreneur, corporate
executive, consultant and innovation “spark plug.” After a
long and highly successful career in fashion apparel, she launched her consulting
and training career right here with InnovationNetwork where her talents for future
thinking and design were put to good use in the creation of products and services
for innovators.
As one of the founders and creative director of Rocky Mountain Clothing Company
(RMCC), over 15 years Ruth Ann drove its growth to $50+ million in annual sales. While
her entrepreneurial start and hands-on style caused her to learn almost every
function from design to production to marketing, it was her ability to create
innovative product “that sells” and iconic brands that spurred her
success. Acquired by Miller International Inc., RMCC had an unfailing record
of profitability during Ruth Ann’s tenure. And, as a corporate VP and division
president, she navigated through challenges typical of today's business climate--growth,
merger, re-engineering and organization development.
Ruth Ann began studying Innovation
in the early 90s, and when she left RMCC, it was a perfectly natural move to
join Joyce Wycoff and InnovationNetwork. In
the years since, she has been involved in the education of business professionals
around Innovation and Creativity including the design and facilitation of InnovationNetwork's
Innovation University program, the production of the Innovation Convergence conference,
research and benchmarking on innovation across industries, client consulting
and training. She also teamed up with hospitality consultancy Customer
Contact Corporation to work in the arena of service innovation.
Known for her
high energy, Ruth Ann is a skilled facilitator, community builder and designer
of adult learning events. She has authored numerous articles on innovation and
related topics and co-authored the book Innovation Training with
Joyce Wycoff. Ruth Ann has spoken at public and corporate conferences across
the country including the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, Nexus
Conference (Credit Unions), ASTD’s international conference and expo and
of course, Convergence. Consulting clients have included Bristol-Myers
Squibb, Datex-Ohmeda (now part of GE Medical), Otto Bock Healthcare, Air Products
and Chemicals, Intrawest, Destination Hotels & Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels
and Resorts, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Hunt Realty Investments. Ruth
Ann holds a B.S. from Oregon State University in Home Economics and Journalism.
